A Japanese sharpening stone of unmatched quality, sourced from the Nakayama mine in Atagoyama. Many credit Nakayama as the premier eastern mine, and after testing one, I can see why. With good cutting power, extremely high hardness, extremely fine particle size, and some of the best feedback I've encountered; this stone is a cut above the rest. This one of a kind Awesedo (Final polishing) stone is the best example of a razor finishing stone that we have seen on the shelves and can be used as a polishing stone with enough practice, leaving a mirrored core and near mirror kasumi finish. A prime example of a collector grade stone

Approximate Grit: 15000+

(Natural stones are all unique and vary in grit, hardness, cutting power and feedback. We do our best to describe them accurately, but variations make it hard to give them an analogous grit rating)

Due to limited supply and unique nature of natural stones, there are no returns or exchanges. Only one of this stone came in so photos are accurate.

Type 40

The type of stone will refer to the overall size and weight of the stone. A smaller number will refer to a larger stone.

(Historically this was in reference to how many stones one could carry at a time. The larger the stone the less of them one could carry.)
